IEC: International Electrotechnical Comission
The world's leading organization for the preparation and publication of International standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies
(electrotechnologies).
All IEC standards are full agreed and represented by the need of stakeholders of every nation participating.
It's one of the three global sisters organizations. They cooperates together to ensure the best decision. One complement each other. The joint comities guarantee that International Standards combine relevant knowledge of experts in each working area.
ISO: International Organization for Standardization
Is the world's largest developer and publisher of international standards. Is a network of standard institutes of 163 countries.
Is not a governmental organization but they form a bride between public and private sector.
ITU: International Telecommunication Union
Leading of United Nations agency for ICT issues. They also organizes exhibitions and worldwide forums (ITU TELECOM WORLD).
ITU-R plays a important role in radio-spectrum management.
ETSI: European Telecommunication Standard Institute
Makes globally-applicable standards for ICT (fixed & mobile tech., radio, broadcast
and Internet tech.). It's recognized by the E.U.
They high quality and open approach has convert ETSI in one organization with a recognised reputation. They have a partnership with 3GPP.
3GPP: 3d Generation Partnership Project
It's a collaboration between "organizer members" specialized in mobile communications.
They objective was present a global system communication of 3d generation (3G) that was an advance of GSM. Later, the objectives were extended, including the monitoring and development of: GSM & GPRS & EDGE ..., 3d generation evolution and IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS).
ANSI: American National Standard Institute
Nonprofit organization that provide standards for USA. It's member of ISO and IEC and they standards can be use in everywhere.
